European beech, 2 m selective reduction and crown lift

We were asked to work on this lovely middle aged European beech (Fagus sylvatica) in Kenwyn, Truro. The canopy spread was starting to get a little out of proportion for its setting, so the decision was made to carry out a selective 2 m reduction. A crown lift was also carried out to let more light onto the grass below. This is a very minimal reduction, with all pruning cuts under 75 mm and the work in line with British Standard 3998:2010, Tree work. Recommendations.
